The doctrine of God is the central point for much of the rest of theology.  One’s view of God might even be thought of as supplying the whole framework within which one’s theology is constructed, and life is lived.  It lends a particular coloration to one’s style of ministry and philosophy of life.

About the Bible Study Teacher

Lead Pastor

Dr. Felix Gilbert is the senior pastor of Restoration Christian Fellowship, a church he and his wife planted in 1999. He is also the founder of Restoration Christian Ministries, a community development corporation that serves the Aurora community. He recently launched Restoration Christian Academy, a Christian school which provides an alternative to secular education in the Aurora community.

Dr. Gilbert served the Ogilvie Institute for preaching at Fuller Seminary as a Micah Group Facilitator where he mentored local pastors in leadership development, and preaching. He joined the faculty of Denver Seminary in 2013 as director of the Urban Initiative and assistant professor of pastoral ministries. In that role, he developed and implemented a lay training program to equip leaders in Denver’s Urban context for effectiveness in ministry. In addition to his service to the academic world, he served on the board of directors for the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology in Jamaica.

Dr. Gilbert’s spiritual gifts are teaching, evangelism, and pastoring. Each gift is enhanced by his warmth, humor, humility, intellectual rigor, and vision. He has been married to his lovely wife Kotane since 1982. Together, they are blessed with three children and four grandchildren.

Dr. Gilbert received his Doctorate in Ministry (DMin) from Denver Seminary with an emphasis on leadership and preaching. He also holds a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Denver Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) from Colorado Christian University.
